The Mazda6 race cars of SpeedSource Race Engineering.

The factory backed Mazda6 race cars of SpeedSource Race Engineering were my favorite cars of the 2013 Grand-Am Rolex series. The factory effort consisted of the #00 car driven by Joel Miller and Tristan Nunez , and the #70 car driven by Sylvain Tremblay and Tom Long. Through their efforts, they were able to secure Mazda with the GX Class Manufacturer’s Championship for the 2013 season.

I had always been a fan of the Mazda6 ever since the 1st generation Mazda6 was released in 2002, so I was thrilled to learn that Mazda had chosen the new 3rd generation Mazda6 to campaign the 2013 season, replacing the RX-8 used in previous seasons. What better place than the track to prove and develop their SKYACTIV Diesel technology.

Congratulations to all of the folks at Mazda and SpeedSource for all they that were able to achieve in 2013, and best of luck during the 2014 Tudor United SportsCar Championship!
